Crowns & Bridges

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth.Crowns are done as a routine treatment after root canal treatment to re-inforce the strength of the tooth structure. Crowns are also used to improve the appearance of teeth, to carry out cosmetic procedures and help in smile designing. They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement. Crowns can be made from many materials like

Metal, Porcelain Fused to Metal, All Ceramic Crowns including Zirconia Crowns which are usually fabricated using indirect methods.

Who should get crowns and/or bridges?

Crowns are for patients who have broken teeth or large fillings. Bridges are for people who lost a tooth or several teeth and would like to restore the look of their smile, including the functionality of their bite.

 What is the procedure?

The procedure for dental crowns and bridges are very similar. We will prepare the teeth by shaping and smoothing to fit under the crown or bridge. Impressions of your teeth and bite will be taken and we will fit temporary crowns over the teeth to protect them until the permanent crowns or bridges can be placed. Once the final fabricated  crown/bridge is complete, you will need to visit our office where in we remove the temp crown & fit the final crown/bridge permanently with cement to your tooth.

We at THE DENTALsquare carefully analyse, verify & match the CROWN color, seating to Aesthetically suite the patients facial appeareance.
